OPNFV SFC configuration in Brahmaputra

Hi, I am looking for SFC usecase across multiple Service Functions. I know that OPNFV brahmaputra supports SFC across Service Functions with in a single compute node. For that, I deployed Openstack Controller running Opendaylight Beryllium and Compute Node using OPNFV brahmaputra ISO. In the deployment I enabled following fuel plugins:

  • Openvswitch with NSH support

  • OpenDaylight plugin with SFC and GBP features

I am able to launch 2 service function VM's in the compute node and able to get IPaddresses to those VM's through ODL. Now, I want to deploy a Service Function Chain consisting of the created VM's.

Can anyone point me what I need to configure in Opendaylight w.r.t SFC? Or Any script available to configure Opendaylight SFC? Do I need to install any extra packages (eg: vNF_manager) related OPNFV in Openstack Controller machine?

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Srikanth.

Hello.

you require a VNF-M at this point. There is some scripting work done to use Tacker, however it was not released with B-release (first round). However, if you look in the fuel repo (code base) you can find the tacker stuff located there (if you want to use this as a VNF-M - or you can use your own).

Cheers, D

Ok..I got it. If I deploy OS controller with ODL + OVS NSH, it will support SFC...right? What I mean is that, I don't need to recompile OVS with NSH support, if I deploy through FUEL and OVS NSH plugin. Please confirm. Thanks, Srikanth.

Hello- if you select the SFC option during deployment for ODL, then the SFC functions in ODL will be enabled. For the presence of the NSH header, im not sure if it was in first round of B-release, but shoudl be there by the final release (check the release home page) - or send a mail to tech-discus

in the opnfv mailing list and as the SFC guys directly. I "think" the NSH header is in there by default (but im not sure where in the released ISO it is).
