Failed to setup network

Hello,

I am a beginner in OPNFV and I am just trying to install Arno Fuel in virtualbox following this slide. But I have a problem during installation. In slide(page 14), I have an error in tab Network Setup. No matter what value I set, it will show that "Module Network Setup failed to save." when I save changes. And I try to set configuration via DHCP, it still shows error message.

I spend much time on it. If I get the answer in details, I will be very happy.

Thanks

hello there.

SUNDAY UPDATE - this bug was reported in openstack and will be committed and built tomorrow on Fuel@OPNFV master branch. You can fetch and build with the patch-id here:

https://gerrit.opnfv.org/gerrit/#/c/9...

Here is the openstack bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/...

Cheers and ill update when the test is through tomorrow and you can try it out.

D (END SUNDAY UPDATE)

{BEGIN UPDATED ANSWER - based on the trouble shooting in the comment below, i have created the following JIRA issue for fuel and we are working on a fix right now. This fix will be merged and I will send the link to the tested ISO when the CI pipeline produces it. I will check with the PTL to see about if this can be cherry picked into the B-release, or if it will be a patch on master (and then come out in SR1 release).

Here is the ticket info for you to track: https://jira.opnfv.org/projects/FUEL/...

In the meantime, here is a link to an ISO where i have removed the call blocking, its based on the FUEL-upstream community build from Jan 26- so no opnfv modifications, however it can test if it fixes your issue and you can do a basic deploy of fuel while the fix is in the works.

http://opnfvericsson.ca/fuel8dasmedit...

GIve that a try and let me know and I will do likewise in the ticket and here

cheers, Daniel

END UPDATED-ANSWER}

can you send me a screen shot of your actual console screen?

i suspect that the network card is not on - you can go to shell and get to a shell login (down in the fuel setup menu) and do "ifconfig -a " and see the output and check that eth0 is ON, RUNNING, ETc.. send the output

Cheers and send the screenshots and ill have a look

Daniel

Hello, This is my screen shot. http://imgur.com/a/iGwi3 In my vm, I can ping those ip address(eth0 eth1..). And it can connect. But, outside of my vm, I can't ping it. Should I do anything else additional action(not in slide) to make sure connection? Thank you very much.

Hey there.. that is really strange, i havent seen that before. Can you grab the latest ISO from the artifacts and boot with it (ARNO is quite old - and maybe there is something with the ISO) http://artifacts.opnfv.org/fuel/brahmaputra/opnfv-2016-02-03_16-00-08.iso and see if you get the same

I install the latest ISO that you give. And this is my screen shot. http://imgur.com/a/rGvo1 I set eth1 and press "Check". It shows no error. However, I press "Apply" and it sets nothing, and just gives me empty value. I don't know why.

hello.. you cant use VirtualBox as it doesnt pass KVM flags to the underlying host.. .or you have to use QEMU (emulation) to do it..
