I'm sorry for the basic question, but I'm not sure it's clearly stated in Arno release note. Can we build openstack deployment and opendaylight installed?

Can we build firewall / lb / vpn network element images and use these image(s) to boot service VM instance? If yes, then how?

For NFV service function chaining, I think we have to wait for B version.

ARNO SR1 contains the ability to deploy an Openstack Environment with ODL pre-integrated (meaning that when the Ostack deployment is done, you will have a VXLAN OVSDB/ODL integrated setup).

Firewall/Lb and VPN instances are objects within openstack and can be configured post-installation - since you are building VMs at that point, so its out of scope of teh ARNO installer and more an end-user activity (once the infrastructure is up and running).

For SFC, you should really get involved in the discussions, as there are lots of things going on right now (NSH discussions, vxLAN ports though neutron, etc). I would suggest joining the #opnfv-sfc channel - their meetings are on Wednesdays, and if you ping in that IRC channel im sure someone will send you an invite.
