Hello all,

I'm Babu kothandaraman and we are planning to install OPNFV in our lab at our company and I looked into minimum hardware requirements from OPNFV bramhaputra release documentation. Using Fuel installer which is as follows: **HW Aspect Requirement

of nodes

Minimum 5 (3 for non redundant deployment): 1 Fuel deployment master (may be virtualized) 3(1) Controllers (1 colocated mongo/ceilometer role, 2 Ceph-OSD roles) 1 Compute (1 co-located Ceph-OSD role) CPU Minimum 1 socket x86_AMD64 with Virtualization support RAM Minimum 16GB/server (Depending on VNF work load) Disk Minimum 256GB 10kRPM spinning disks Networks
4 Tagged VLANs (PUBLIC, MGMT, STORAGE, PRIVATE) 1 Un-Tagged VLAN for PXE Boot - ADMIN Network Note: These can be allocated to a single NIC - or spread out over multiple NICs as your hardware supports.**

Should the nodes mentioned above be run as seperate hardware machine or all these nodes can be virtualized in one server using a hypervisor? Even though the note says the VLAN tags can be allocated to a single NIC which implies all can be run in a virtualized manner, I wanted to confirm.

Fuel@OPNFV supports virtual deployment using kvm so you can start with having all the nodes as VMs on a machine and continue from there. You can take a look at the Fuel@OPNFV developer pipeline on github.
