I am new to OPNFV. From the documents of OPNFV Arno, i see that Arno provides NFVI and VIM (I think Arno does not provide direct VNF deployment). Could you please say me what tools can be used over Arno to deploy VNF on virtual instances, after i install OPNFV Arno ?

Arno delivers the standard Horizon interface to perform deployment of VNFs, as well as the full Openstack API set would be there as well.

Currently in the SFC project there is some work being done with Tacker to act in the VNF-M function, as well as some other rudimentary scripts to perform deployments of VNF's to an installed infrastructure. Perhaps those would help as a start.

Thank you. I see that openstack controller provides virtual routers, virtual switches etc. Please let me know whether these are the actual virtual network functions or is there any way that we can deploy our own router images as VNF over the open stack environment?

Hey there.. By default the only image in glance that is installed at deployment is a cirros one, you can of course, import your own VNF images (vnfs, vrouters, vFWs, etc) as you would with any standard VIM (openstack). I do it with Vyatta all the time for example to provide L3 FW/Routing to my VNF
